Above the dais is a sculptural relief panel of Our Lady of Justice.
As you can see, Justice is blindfolded to signify that we are all
equal before the Law. Justice also carries a set of scales
(balanced) and her hand is resting on the sword pointing
downward to indicate "guilty".



There is a second relief panel of Justice in courtroom 4, a mirror
image of this panel in every respect, but with the sword pointing
up to signify "not guilty" and therefore, balance is preserved.
