The central light fixture is a reproduction of a gas fixture that
was originally in courtroom 2. Below the globe is a small ring
that controlled the flow of gas to the fixture. Government
buildings did not begin the conversion to electricity until later.
The original fixture disappeared at some point in the past and
no pictures or sketches were found.
