The American Room

The American Room which is part of the Great Library is the
centerpiece of three time periods. The room behind dates 1847,
the American Room dates 1895 and the reading room dates in
at 1860.

The picture below depicts the entrance to the Great Library and
the American Room.

Osgoode Hall Great Library American Room

The American Room was designed by Burke and Horwood and
was was completed in 1895. The electric light fixtures, installed
a few years after Osgoode Hall adopted electricity for at least
some parts of the building, was part of the original design.
